Né en 1962, Étienne a une enfance et une jeunesse baignant dans une ambiance de sensibilité aux arts, que ce soit la musique ou le dessin et la peinture.
En 1982 il commence à sculpter des masques pour le théâtre, activité qui l’occupe encore aujourd’hui et qui lui offrira une carrière internationale.
En 2013 il réactive une recherche qu’il avait faite dans les années 80 sur l’effet de l’ombre et la lumière sur les visages pour la dédier à un travail de sculpture. Il étend cette démarche aux corps. Ses matériaux sont la terre, le plâtre, la pierre et le métal.
Born in 1962, Étienne spent his childhood and youth immersed in an atmosphere of sensitivity to the arts, from music to drawing and painting.
In 1982, he began sculpting masks for the theatre, an activity that keeps him busy to this day, and which has led to an international career.
In 2013, he reactivated research he had carried out in the 1980s on the effect of light and shadow on faces, dedicating it to sculpture. He extends this approach to the body. His materials are clay, plaster, stone and metal.
